Mass General Brigham
Hacking the Immune System
Every day, countless stories of hope and triumph unfold in a healthcare system of five nationally ranked hospitals and two renowned academic medical centers. These stories seem like the stuff of legend; truths stranger and more compelling than any fiction. As such, they deserve to be told, unfiltered, by the voices who lived them.

In a storytelling format known as oral history, T Brand worked with MGB to uncover two stories that encapsulated its breadth and depth as a healthcare system and research center. Compiled through a series of in-depth interviews, we heard directly, sans narrator, from doctors, nurses, patients, and family members as they recounted episodes that brought to bear the full muscle of the MGB system for positive patient outcomes.

The dynamic layout features inviting portraits, the visually rich and interesting lab spaces framed by a contemporary design to highlight the story, subjects, and research innovation.

Paired with powerful custom portraiture of select subjects in COVID-safe environments, the final product shows — rather than just tells —  the behind-the-scenes story of MGB research.
